Default Just spec'd 2010 GT3 for June/July Del

Just about crapped my pants with a phone call from the dealership this morning. "We need you to spec your car by tomorrow to get a late June/July delivery date." Not sure what the story is but will finalize all the info tomorrow. Still waiting to hear back from them about the price of some options like the engine mounts.

If you guys have questions for me to ask the dealership then ask now. I have til tomorrow to find out what I can and give my final specs. Interesting that they do not have all the option prices just yet, but they will make a phone call to verify any of my questions.

I will not get a lot of options, what's the point for a track car.

One of my quesitons already is if you can get 5 lugs or not in place of CL.

Sure hope they are serious about all this. I just do not understand how this came up so soon. I'll go with it for now.

Curious about the new option prices also...

Got an email this week from a dealer that said he'll know about allocations in 4-6 weeks. Interesting.

I just received a similar call from my Dealer who indicated that their Regional Manager (PCNA) confirmed allocation to the Dealership today.

I deal with the Sales Manager and he too was surprised by the timing (as was I). No formal option list or pricing yet, however.

TDM - pls post whatever info you get re options and the like. Thx in advance!

OP, no need to worry:-

Other Dealers also received their allocations for May build cars today, so you have real information. I just got off the phone with one of them.

So I heard from a reliable source the reason for the early builds is the factory may close for up to 8 weeks this summer over the usual 3 due to economy. They will build these GT3's soon and then release them in September or so. I don't really have a whole lot of info. The dealers are actually having a hard time using their car builders. I will post what I know as I learn more.

Dealers are hurting. They want to lock you in rather than have you shopping around.

I talked to a number of dealers today, apparently everyone has been promised exactly two and in one case one but I think the guy meant the other was claimed by someone important and therefore not really an allocation.

The get in quick and order method is what they're using to figure out what people want in the new cars according to two different managers but without a full order guide.. what can we really ask for? none of the weird new features are on the list but we can pick color, sat/nav and that kind of thing.

I'm likely wrong, but I find it hard to believe Porsche would limit production if there are willing buyers in this economy.

well, there's real math and there's porsche math.
i dont think you fully comprehend what "exactly two" means.
at one time i believe CGT was to only 1/2 as many as produced. i dont think they lied, but porsche math is more complicated than all the calculus, number theories and imaginary number courses i took in the past.

oh, 996GT2 also suffered from porsche math syndrome.
