interesting info
lots of interesting info such as:
- recognition of all of us putting cup splitters and grilles on the car
- description of new aero and downforce
- description of suspension changes (spring rates etc)
- why no DFI .. and a hint that maybe this engine still has another gen in it!
- sounds like new PASM is pretty cool too ...
lots more ... now all I have to do is sell my '07 and find a dealer with a '10
build slot!

This car is going to be something serious. That's a lot of updates for a refresh IMO. But I love it!
I'll bet we see a 4.0 liter from the GT1 before any DFI gets to it.
Just watch the cup cars, when they go DFI, expect the GT3 to follow right behind them.

Interesting to hear that the LED rear lighting 2Kg ea. more.
Also the challenge to meet safety regs, that add weight and try to find ways of balancing that addition.
Don't know how true this is but one of the reasons that I have heard as to no DFI, is the very high fuel rail pressure req. 1000+ lbs.
Grand Am regs state 75 lbs...

Depending upon the racing, fuel efficiency is certainly a central issue in winning versus placing. The combination of accurate fuel metering and estimation with carrying only the required fuel load is all part of the game.
If anything, direct injection is a simple, light and efficient system, so any argument against DI is hard to accept. It's one of those "until we can make it help us win" technologies.

Great find! Certainly clarified some of the questions one would have on the new car... Always best when details on changes come from such a knowlegable source... He's able to give a whole lot more detail than any dealer will ever give...
On a side note, did anyone notice the link to the Nissan GTR Vspec launch at Geneva... Without starting a whole fluff abt it, basically weight reduction, 80 sec overboost, fixed damper suspension, track tyres and no extra power for 80% more in price...
Dispite being track spec, if you switch off VDC or suffer any track related failure... No warranty as per road going version...Make mine a GT3 anytime...
