Wow, so only 6 997 GT2 has been sold in the US?? I saw a yellow one in Cars & Coffee in Irvine this past weekend. IIRC, a silver or white one in South Bay area awhile back. That's 1/3 of it, how many are on this forum?

Don't forget, that's year to date. There were some sold as early as 2nd qtr. 2008.

Ah, that makes more sense. I was thinking previous year YTD was the whole year. That's why I was so surprised to see not one was sold in 2008 and I thought they came out end of last year too, my bad.

If that were all there were to it, that's not deceleration, that's a reinforced concrete barrier. But I imagine there's more to it. Perhaps the timing of production on customer orders or a general tactic common to dealers to hold out on the rare car and cave on the common one -- the given sales guy might want to throw it out the door, but the dealer owner won't be necessarily so anxious. Finding a dealer with two or three of the things in stock might help swing the deal. I tend to agree that at $200K, it's a good 25% overpriced (usually not a big deal until you get into that sort of price range where 25% becomes serious decision-changing money.)
