I can still sell direct if it avoids sales tax.

Haha same here :-)
You'd be nuts, your price is right, the car is perfect, if it does not sell, there is no market. Just keep it, don't sell, you'll regret it!

Consider a 986 Boxster S. I went to one of those from a 996 GT3 as my "downsizing" move. I've always been a 911 nut (owned 5 or 6 of them over the last 20 yrs), but I've gotta say, the Boxster gives just as many smiles/mile as any other P-car I've owned.

I know...I keep seeing guys sell theirs and then buying another one!

Boxster is fun to drive, but I don't fit well in them since they don't have the "back seat" space like a 911.

Adding kids to the mix will just make it worse!

I don't know if it still the same now, but back in 1990 when the engine of my car was changed, Porsche AG delivered a new engine with the same number as the original, BUT with AT after the number.
AT means AusTauch (exchange).

I have also seen cars with ATM after the engine number, AusTauchMotor.

oh man... i so want another...
but i would really like the engine and tranny and ECU so i can pump up my boxster.

rog, try to see if you fit a cayman s. they are now 12-15k off brand new cars.
so $50k would get you a lightly optioned cay or box s. not quite GT3, but it's fun.
