for gt3 and gt3 rs, what would be the advantages, disadvantages of converting to center bolt?

if it is for a street car, you will have to carry around a special socket/wrench or whatever because no one will have it if you have a flat or whatever...

limited wheel choices... but... all the "real" wheels can be made with centerlock...

it looks cool... but I think in the real world it may be more of a pain than it is worth...

The cost of hardware might come into reach if the 997.2 GT3 arrives in the US market with center locks. Given the way the US market tends to inexplicably "miss out" on so many of the rest-of-world options, I can't say I hold high hopes, but so it goes.

any idea on what the hardware costs for conversion? Many grand-am cup cars converted back to lugs have center bolt kits laying around?

Are you saying "many" or asking "any?" You could call any of the teams that have a sales side and see what they have to offer. I imagine one of the RL site sponsors that build cars or resell PMS parts -- TRG, GMG, FL, etc. -- would be able to take your money. : ) I don't know of a DOT street legal center hub other than the Carrera GT (which surprised the potatoes out of me when it arrived!)

The new CL RS Spider wheels that are available for the Turbo
require 475 NM torque. That equals 350 ft lbs.
That is quite a torque wrench you will have to have. (like 4 ft long)

I'd guess the torque spec is about the same for any CL

Except for looks I don't see the point???

Whatever to that piece, just get the cup centerlocks and the super long torque wrench last time i looked it was like 2k for the set and another 500 for the torque wrench.

By the way in the US centerlocks are not DOT approved and therefore not legal on the street. I don't know about newfoundland.

I think you can use a torque multiplier that is rather compact (converts a long stroke of moderate torque into a short stroke of high torque by using gears).
