A sensible move considering that using LC voids your warranty...

finally the GT-R is worth getting...
I never felt that any cars should need this launch control feature, not on the street, not on the highway, and not at the track. Only useful in a drag race against a car with similar performance. It is a useless feature that will only cause problem to the car in the long run.
As for the current GT-Rs, their resale is going down the drain when more non-car guys found out this warranty problem and Nissan admitting to their own wrong doing.

i dont see why nissan getting such a hard time on the web for this. imo, only reason they see more warantee claims with lc is their customers use and abuse it not because its a substandard piece.
doubt many ferrari customers even know if they have lc let alone how to use it.

It's a great transmission even without LC. There is no benefit is using LC unless you like racing in a drag strip or from stoplight to stoplight. But otherwise they've done their homework right.

Nissan will also Void Warranty on the GT-R if you turn the VDC (Vechicle Dynamic Control) off.
Thats right, turn off the electronic nannies when you're tracking the GT-R and bye bye warranty.
IMO... Nissan has a major flaw in their drive train and is using the ECU for torque management to lessen the loads.

I think the major issue is that Nissan is denying claims without actual physical inspection of the transmission damage. Instead, they are reading the black box data without the consent the owners ( refusing to share that data with the owner as well) to deny the claim. IIRC the courts have ruled that only law enforcement and the car owner is privy to that data. I would guess this is the real reason why Nissan will not be able to defend its case legally and they had to drop the LC.
