we had a 993 turbo show up from austraila in the targa newfoundland.

it dominated until it ran into a rod problem or something half way through the week.

Just out of morbid curiosity, what's a Turbo S cost in Australia these days? Seems like a lot of dollars to put at risk (and rare dollars, too.) Where do Porsches get advertised?

When I rallied and hill-climbed in Victoria, I was in a 3spd HR. : ) (no, not too many trophies when you're bringing 161 cu in and maybe 100 hp to the gun fight)

Last one I knew about was being advertised for AU$180k. We pay a lot more for this kind of thing here than in the US. Mine is a "story" car and not legally registerable in Aust. I use it for competition only and so I imagine it would only be worth half the ask of a low mileage fully legal car. This worries me not a jot as I never intend to sell it and bang for buck, it is up there with the best of them. It weighs about 1400kg and has around 500hp so it is a right old bit of fun!
