I love the color combo..... like a RSR
Don't know about the cage plates.

FWIW $155,000 US = $182,500 including 6.1% duty and current exchange rate (1.10).

Interesting point. Looks like i will have to wait for the exchange rate to be more favorable as well as the USA prices to drop down closer to MOOTYS RS sale price......

The 6.1% duty is the killer... however i believe it is claimable if a GST registrant?

6.1% duty is not claimable. It is an import tax payable immediately to the crown.

There's nothing wrong with a 'base' 6GT3 too..... half the price for maybe 95% of the performance and still relatively exclusive.

Not anytime soon and especially on a hot car. The 6GT3 prices started to reflect the US market only these past few months and keep in mind they're 3 to 4 years old.

The GT3 RS had a retail price of 172,000 in Canada. Add another 6,080 for the #@! white paint (yes!) and more for the other options and bingo you are at 190K or there abouts - ask me how I know! For US guys, the retail price of a Porsche in the USA is lower than dealer cost in Canada. Porsche seems to feel that the Canadian dollar is still worth about 65 cents US. Consider the 996 GT3, retail in the US was 99,500. In Canada, $147,500 and change. This explains why so many Canucks are buying cars in the USA. On the other hand Canadian dealers are pretty upset about the situation and when you visit a dealer, don't expect the same treatment that a local buyers gets.

Regards,

you are so right! the prices of 996 GT3 are getting so good right now too.....
i have been tempted to shelf the beautiful RS body for a bargin 996 that i could throw a load of cup parts on it. Then i would have a killer fun 996 GT3 for racing which it what i really only plan on using a GT3 for anyhow.

hmmmm... will have to wait and see where the market goes this spring.... and hom my investments pan out.... could make the difference between a 996 or 997.
