With all the cars for sale and complaints about the RMS leaks I felt the need to start a positive thread about my RS experience.
I bought my orange RS last December with 1100 miles on the clock. I now have 5500 miles and the car has been tracked 4 times. The only changes made were Sharkwerks bypass and alot of protective film. Truly a great car and I get a thrill every time I start it!!!
Also, with Craig Stanton's assistance I am becoming a halfway decent driver.

Also in love with my GT3. Am now up to 12,600km and she has 11 track days under her belt. She has a dry RMS, but did have a one-off gearbox problem that was resolved in due time. The on-track reliability has been astounding; I just arrive, feed it gas and race tires and drive. She doesn't even consume any oil!
If it's any indication of how much I enjoy this car, I put 12,000km on my 993 Turbo (an amazing car in its own right) over a period of three years. I've already put more than that on the GT3 in only 1 year!
We're very fortunate to have the opportunity to drive these cars; I count my lucky stars everyday and try my best to share the passion with those who are not yet able to drive one. Just yesterday, a young boy and his father were looking the car over when I was returning. I opened the door and let the kid sit in the driver's seat while his dad took a pic. I bet he'll be driving a GT3 one day too

Just finished reading 3 Porsche books and I am amazed how far the breed has come! It IS a privilege to drive such a fine piece of engineering. Personally I have not had the RMS issue or any other issue for that matter. Mine is not an RS but they are spectacular automobiles!

I have the 996 GT3, but have driven the 997 GT3 (PCCB) at a couple different tracks, rode in a 997 GT2 (PCCB) and drove a 997 GT3 RS (PCCB) last weekend at California Speedway.
All I can say is that it is the ONLY car I would trade in my 996 GT3 for at this point. I fell in love right away. The most impressive thing IMHO was the grip coming off slow speed corners. Amazing feeling, brakes were incredible and the sound with the Fabspeed exaust was a high pitch banshee. INcredible.
I hopped out of the RS and into my 996 GT3 and felt the 6 to be a little loose, not as precise around the NASCAR 1 and 2 turns (Roval).
If the price difference wasn't so much, I think I'd pull the trigger.
I'm glad to see so many RS owners track their car. It's a shame that so many are garage queens.
