Cool Zkermit MKII... this time PDK

Oh boy... couldn't help myself. She's green and got PDK but goes really nicely with the RS. It's our 09 MKII 997S and I drove it for the first time today and so far I have to say it feels like much more than just a "refresh". For now here's a teaser but I absolutely dig the PDK as a _replacement_ for Tiptronic. The sports suspension feels pretty darned good for "stock" out of the box and the power increase is certainly noticeable too. Feels quite quick to me....

That's a real beauty! I like the Green/Tan color combo!

Someone had a brand new one identical to it at the Barber track last weekend. He'd just picked it up the day before. He seemed to love it except for one thing: The PDK would still downshift mid corner if given too much (full) throttle. It wouldn't hold the gear he wanted.

Alex, this thing needs some miles put on it! You better consider bringing it up for a little romp through the forest sometime in the next week. I will be home on Tuesday. I can't wait to see what you and James have planned for this Greenie.

The new 911 looks outstanding

However, the wheels suck...

Looks nice, Alex!

Please let us know your impressions on the PDK!! This is the most intriguing feature of this 998, as far as I am concerned. I hope Porsche will make an effort to integrate it into the upcoming 998 GT3! Sad to see, though, that they still have not found a way to get rid of the bumperettes!

Enjoy!

Was the tranny in full manual mode? Otherwise that would be very odd. The SMG tranny in the M3 as an example does not do that in manual mode.

Thanks WalkerInTN, she really is quite pretty in person and especially if you like the 911 lines. If you are a BRG fan like me I honestly never thought of that color on a 911 before but here you go.

I haven't been out on the track yet and just did a stint during Friday's rush hour traffic and that all went well. In my short drives thus far I haven't noticed the car shifting for me when in manual mode but I need to get more seat time.

Haha my friend... I called you yesterday like an excited school kid. Let's do some transmission comparos with yours soon eh? I don't know about the track yet but in rush hour traffic the thing was butter-smooth. No clunkyness or weird shifting. I didn't spill a drop of my Frappacino

Friday in a PDK 911s and Saturday all day driving ze Cayman S RS370. Doesn't get any better...

I need to get Dan's butt to work then!

I can't wait for the drive next week. The tires are "primed" too
