well lets see there- you're gonna need pretty much 40k worth of new parts...
Itemized list of what you might want:
2 left PCCB rotors: 12k.
2 left calipers: 4k
Left front fender, Door, Lights, left rear fender: 6k
front bumper, rear bumper, mufflers, 4k
steering wheel, airbag 1k
left wheels 3k
assuming the entire drivetrain isn't trashed also:
exhaust, motor mounts, transmission mounts: 8k
various radiator stuff: 2k
oh yeah and I forgot about the axles, wheel bearings, suspension stuff...another 10k.

i would have to say that there is more probability that this is the same car with "upgraded" mirrors and reflectors than not...in any case, a shame. hopefully nobody was hurt, physically or financially! mentally is understood.

can't do that without serious bodywork and modifications to mounting points

OK not the same car. I found out the wreck is in Jersey, the good one is in Houston. The chances of 2 rare white GT3RS's having the same even rarer HRE competiton wheels in black are pretty slim but dopplegangers do exist!

NO!!!
Especially for a track car, I would consider safety to be very important.
I think that trying to save money by buying a salvaged car, for whatever reason it may be, is NOT a good idea.
The only ones who it is good for, are those who deal in this business and are often unethical when reselling, and put others lives in danger by putting a car on the road that they "think" has been repaired properly. And I know this is not your intended purpose, I'm just bringing up the only reason that someone might win (make money) on a salvaged car, but so many others lose.

just curious, but if the car recieved new brakes, wheels, fenders, suspension, door and bumpers and repaired properly, how would affect safety as a track car?
The idea being air bags removed and clubsport cage installed.
