20,000km (12,000mi) and no leaks here as well. I drive it every two weeks or so and the car has seen 19 track days since new.

usage: mainly track use, else driving to and from track.
2002 Carrera RMS-yes. Engine blew at 11k miles under normal revs. Half shaft broke. Porsche replaced engine at no charge. No RMS with the replacement, now 52k miles.
2004 GT3 - No RMS
2007 RS - No RMS
2010 RS - TBD

Default Is it dumb luck or driving style ?

I bought all three of my RS with only transport/delivery miles

'07 RS # 2513 has 3700 +/- miles

'07 RS # 3115 has 4000 +/- miles

'08 RS # 2191 has 1800 +/- miles

None of my GT3RS are showing any indication of the dreaded RMS leak.....
Knock on wood !

Is it dumb luck or could it be driving style ? I haven't noticed this theory discussed on any of the forums.

That's an interesting sample. I imagine someone could figure out the "leakers" and the "no diaper required" owners if they studied all the variables and factors -- parked nose-up, stopped hot, long cool down or short, used wide open throttle on the track, jacked up the car by the engine casing, etc. etc.

Personally, I've had two .1 GT3's and drove them both almost identically to the mile, to the track day count, to the sets of tires, parked in the same garage, used the same trailer, same (non) break-in, etc. Neither car smoked, neither car dripped, but when the second car was left to sit a couple of weeks before being shipped off for sale, it developed a "smear" on the bottom of the bell-housing.

If the 2010 RS leaks, it's entirely upon Porsche to fix it and no never mind how I drive, where or when I drive, these things leak and it's not the driver causing the failure regardless of exhaust system back-pressure or whatever hogwash the car maker invents to cause debate over the plain facts.

My bottom line is simple: This is Porsche at fault and their onus, not mine. That they deny responsibility is their shame.

2007 GT3, less than 25k miles. Multiple coolant leak/explosions. Now, RMS likely. Porsche won't cover RMS because of RS single mass flywheel. Doesn't make sense considering it happens on both stock GT3's and RS's.

Losing faith in Porsche quality/reliability/service.

Take responsibility for what are obviously faults in design and put customers first.

It's now 2 months later and my leaky RMS is being replaced under warranty as I type this.

My dealer is also replacing my clutch and flywheel with RS lightweight pieces along with the updated RS crank pulley for the cost of part plus 2-3 hrs install time. Sweet!!

Get your power steering leak fixed?

I just picked up my car at autoimport. As usual, it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

Yup, just picked it up yesterday. Stress fracture resulting in a pin hole leak was the "official" diagnosis. Michael Mrak felt it had more to do with Ted being in the car when it occurred!
He was kidding of course!!

I also had the RMS replaced under warranty... as well, those other goodies swapped in while the engine was out.

Default Yes, on 2007 RS with 7000 miles

The dealer detected oil "seepage" during annual warranty maintenance check and replaced RMS. I took car to NJMP on Friday and had to leave after first run with oil dripping down between engine and crank. Will see what the dealer says Monday.
