I just bought a 2007 GT3 and noticed it has Pirelli Corsa tires. I thought they all came with cup tires? The car only has 2500 miles on it. What tires did Porsche use as OEM?

My car was built in 4/07 and came with the Corsa system. I have 1000 track miles on them and I am going to put a few more on them before I switch to the Toyo R888. I think the Corsa is an excellent tire, good wet grip and good track grip and life, just don't like paying 570.00 per rear tire.

I always had the Cups on the other car I had. Big fan! Then when I pickup my new GT3 with Corsas, these became my favorites. I love these tires. I plan to stick with Corsas while I have the 3. Just got another set. They are awesome!!!

corsas are much better if you're in a wet climate...and they handled snow well while I did euro delivery on the cobalt gt3...but I really like the michelins on my RS. maybe I just love my RS and it can do no wrong?

It is six of one and half a dozen of another (Michelins versus Corsas). I was a diehard in the Michelin camp, until I got the Corsas and they are every bit as good.
So much for (my) bias and perceived differences.

I double checked and two of my friends 07's came with Corsa systems as well.
My problem with the corsas is that they have so much tread depth, but they seem to cycle out quickly. maybe 3 weekends or so? with more than 50% tread left which is fine for the street but I can't hit the same lap times at the track until I get a new set. it may be psychological but new corsas are worth over 1 second then 6 day old corsas.

I have not tried out the Nitto NT01 but there are guys I DE with that run these and/or Toyo R888's and like them much better than the Michelin cups for DE's. I am told they warm up faster last 3-4 times longer and can withstand many more heat cycles.

toyo price gone way way up. 305 and 315 are just shy of $400 a piece.
