interesting post. Sales of GT3RS is almost equal to GT3 this year. I guess the markup will soon be over.

the rarest car is C4 coupe and Targa 4, wonder if they will become a collector?!

Wow. Sales are WAY down this year.

Am I reading that correctly?
Doesnt that concern you all?

2 things I am surprised by:

They should have ended the Gt3 run at 911 (not 914!)

I thought my GT3 was rare, but then I saw there were fewer Boxster Ss!

Don't equate sales volume with production volume. For example, you can probably assume that there are a lot more Boxster S's sitting in dealer inventories and unsold than there are GT3's.

I really want a GT3 RS... The only one I've found so far (in NYC) is marked up WAAAY over sticker. Bummer...

Do it, Chris. Hey, do you still go to Chick-Fil-A meet?

Yeah I go sometimes, but not as often... I am waiting for the DFI updates to the Turbo/GT3 before I buy my next Porsche.

What is going on? I thought the GT3 was out of production since the end of January.

Looks like the Cayenne is again paying Porsche AG's bills. Although it's mostly Cayenne V6 that is selling now.

Are those US or global sales?

GT3 sales in 2008 thru May = 31
RS sales in 2008 thru May = 38 !!

When US dealers begin to get GT3 RS mk IIs, the markups will disappear.
Some cars have been for sale for 13 months, at $50k and $60k over MSRP.
They should have 15k miles on them by now, not tires with flat spots.

Over on TeamSpeed, at the end of May, someone posted that the last GT3 RS mk I had been built, and was just delivered to a customer in the Philippines. I would imagine it was built some time in April 2008.

MJones, thanks for posting this info!

I have created a chart summarizing your posts over the past 20 months:

http://www.gt3rsregistry.com/docs/HowMany.htm#sales

The one thing we still don't know is exactly how many were MY2007s and how many were MY2008s.

When I created the registry I figured it would be an easy job, since there were only going to be 250 of them. Now we have over 400, with a bunch still on dealer showrooms, and a mkII in the works. We will end up with 800 of them in the USA by the time the 997 line is complete.
