Default 997 GT3 suspension mods

What are the basic suspension upgrades available for a 997 GT3? Same as for 996 GT3 or different because of PASM and 19" wheels?

Friend of mine has one, and he feels his 996 GT3 handled much better after suspension upgrades and was curious what to do with 997.

No, he's not RL'er.

thanks

I've got mine lowered 10mm, with solid bushings, toe steer kit, and some different adjustable arms up in the mix from GMG. with those holding the right alignment together, it's much better on track.

I am surprised not many people have changed their suspension. This is a mod. I would love to do. Anyone has Motons? Which ones? Intrax? How much faster is your lap time compare to OEM suspension?

Thanks,

Stephan

- That is the question?
- Running the same tires (before and after) this is what I would like to know
- now, with much higher springs, removing all the rubber so you can run slicks then obviously you are going to be way faster

- my prediction is that even the best spring and dampeners with no other changes would not really make the car much faster

- i would really like to see some numbers

- likely the 996gt3 guys will have data

Hi there,

I did the InTrax. Very compliant. Great stability over curbs, rough track.

Next time I see you, take a ride in my car.

Also, I'm trying the Hoosier's in the 19 inch size. Have you settled in on your favorite 18 inch combination?

Default suspension

I did lower rear toe links and Engine mounts. My car is also lowered about 15mm.

Just how much would engine mounts matter? I can understand the desire to not have much slop with all that weight.....but just how "bad" are the stock GT3 engine mounts?

Cheers,

Cheers,

FWIW when inquiring about engine mounts with GMG, Fabryce said they were not neccessary for my car and my uses...

I have not decided yet... but was suprised to hear that...

i dont know much about engine mounts. i do know that a few stock GT3 drove circles around my ex moton'd GT3. so to save face, i sold it and bought a non monton'd GT3
