I have had a few days and T7 is though. My fastest is right wheels on the old fog line and a very late(almost auto cross) type of turn. The issue is if there is someone behind, goes low and does not make the corner can punt me into the weeds. It sure is fun!!!!
T1: I have my right wheels on the rumble almost in the dirt.

I raced a season in spec miata last year. There is very definitely a racing by braile element in spec miata racing. Great fun though.

Congratulations CJ.

Get used to having contact during the races. Bumping cars to gain positions is the norm in MX5 Cup racing.

At the Dome eh? If you're around we have a Saturday Morning Porsche Get Together. Welcome to join if you'd like, two of the guys that go own Mazda dealers by coincidence.

They call them Spec Piñatas for a reason, right?

The car looks great, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. I'm doing a 3-day Skip Barber school in Miatas this weekend at Sebring, so it should be fun to hone skills in a momentum car. I'm also thinking about getting one, but I'd buy a street car and do a conversion - gotta have a license plate - as opposed to starting with a Cup.

I think that is a great idea, and what i might do as well. Want to get into the club racing heavily, but my GT2 is just too much too swallow for doing this!

Congrats CJ, how much can one of these be had for??

Congrats C.J., and best of luck to you with the new ride.

You made a great choice, the lack of horsepower(no HP crutch to fall back on) in the Mazda will improve your driving skills at a faster pace than would driving your GT3RS.

Be safe and enjoy!!!

thanks everyone...I got this car because I WANT to rub fenders. PCA racing and it's "no contact" thing is the reason why I'm not doing spec boxsters- well that and because parts are hilariously cheap on the mx5! brake pads for 20 bucks, fenders for 75, tranny rebuild for 750, etc...the car was about the same price of entry as a spec boxster (build sheet spec that is), maybe a little cheaper. It's been raced before and I'm sure it could very well end up in a wad somewhere, but for the price I think I made the right move for me.

I think the more things I have to juggle while driving the faster I'll advance. It's a totally new thing, it will be like a completely foreign language at first but if I've got any skills they'll show soon enough.

"this guy behind me is losing his brakes, I might need to dive bomb the apex a little more so he doesn't punt me!"
"well I guess I can run him off the corner on exit a bit..."

Dan aka DRG and I are going to paint our cars flat black and pink- and "Butch Boys Racing" is born. lol

I also will do one of those barber schools so that I can get my scca rookie license as soon as a slot opens up in my schedule.
