Think it definately needs a color change and you're on the right track with colors, but if you don't do the blue/red... do the orange with black and call it "mini me"... It'll make perfect sense when parked beside the RS in the garage...

Congrats CJ, looks like a lot of fun and a great way to step in to w2w racing. SM or MX-5 Cup always looked interesting to me as a way to experience the polar oposite of our P-cars with the engine attached to the wrong end
Will be interested to hear your thoughts as you get into it more.
As mentioned above, Rangar motif ? - PR folks should love that. But keep the Ranger logo stick-on so when you demand a trade to a West Coast club you can make the quick swap

Like other posters to this thread, I actually have gone the same route - I have two Spec Miatas. Great fun, great learning car, and totally underscores the thought "momentum car" that many pros indicate Porsches are. You will have a ton of fun in them, and will find a whole new source of competition on the track - Lotus Elise and Exiges, S2000, Mustangs, certain Vettes, Porsches, etc. For a car that really has not much power and are comparatively cheap, they actually corner and grip better than many "cooler" cars and can and will turn similar laptimes with proper driving technique. Driving Miatas has also helped defined the racing adage that says race the car you can afford to write off. Writing off a Cup Car is one of my worst dreams...... In a Miata, absolutely no concerns...
Lastly, Miatas are pretty darn safe, despite their small size. I had a pretty nasty head on into the tire wall in a Miata race around 80 mph a week ago. Cockpit was perfect, front end was damaged but not any where collapsed, and about $10k in damage. I walked away with a slight concussion. The same in a cup car would have likely totalled it (or would have been about 5-7 times the cost) as significant tub damage would have likely occurred. Also glad that Skip Barber offers insurance........
BTW - always wear a Hans.......

I will not forgive you if you are going to keep using that white lid!
You have so many nice cars already, paint your helmet CJ!!!!! ...especially now that you are going with the Miata.
BTW, does your contract says anything about doing hobbies that can get you hurt?
