Martin,
You're car sounds great.
I can still remember that sound from VIR as you were wailing down the straight. . . . . . .

The GT2 did not fell as stiff or as communicative as my GT3RS and I wasn't driving it on Wilshire Boulevard I was ripping it up the Sepulveda pass...as far as raw power goes anyone can drive fast in a straight line. I personally think the premium Porsche is charging for the GT2 is ridiculous...

For the 250K it would take to get a GT2 you can get a GT3 and a 997TT!!!

i also saw the yellow gt2 at limerock last week and was not impressed either. yes its obviously stupid fast but i dont like its looks or its sound so the gt3 remains my fav p.

for 250k would have to consider gallardo sl over this even if it doesnt have ultimate performance levels.

LOL, the Gallardo SL is not even in the same zipcode as the GT2..............lmao , ripping it on Sepulveda, yeah , thats the ticket. Too quiet now, that must be the new replacement for the sunroof whine of the GT3.
Lots of sour grape talk, if you ain't willing to step don't talk it down ..............unless it is a total go cart course the Gt2 is on the average a full 2 sec + faster per lap than a RS at a total savings of 150-200 k , even with over money, in comparison to a Carr GT with almost identical and under certain conditions better performance .

And that is talking stock with zero aftermarket improvements.

I own a 997TT, so I think I can be unbiased when I compare the performance and potential of the two cars.

Mine is on the water. I can't wait!

There are already GT2 power upgrades on the market. FVD (not saying I would pick them) has one for 580 hp.

If you have a 997TT, then I'm sure you will love the GT2 over it; the difference should be night and day.

Your GT2 will be awesome.

They wanted 40K over sticker for the car which came to 251k...I like everything about my RS better and I have been driving Porsche turbos for almost 20 years. IMHO the 997GT3RS is the best Porsche currently for sale
Is the GT3 RS really that much different than a GT3?? Not meant as a negative comment. Just honestly want to know.

It is not a big difference, but what the RS has (and doesn't have, like the sunroof) over the regular GT3 does make it better. Therefore it the best car Porsche has ever built. But yes, the regular GT3 is a very, very close second.

The answer is NO the RS is not that much better then the GT3. I am a decent driver...went to the 3 day barber school and have done a fair amount of track days and I certainly cannot extract the difference out of my RS. That said, the RS is the essence of what a Porsche should be.

Thanks to both you guys for the answer. I am in the market for a GT3-7. It seems there can be some RS's had for about 20k more than the 3. So I was considering the RS.

And I see it completely differently (not that I am right).

I've done a lot of track days, but am not the fastest guy around. However, there is an order of magnitude difference between the RS and the GT3. Either it is a seat of the pants thing or I am a marketing victim; but it works for me and I'm a skeptic.

If you can get an RS get one, if you get an 07 GT3 get one, neither one is too shabby!

And put the Black Series in the mix to challenge your objectivity, insecurities and value propositions. You might just get that instead, depending on the health of your insecurities!

At the end of the day it is not about absolutes, it is about enjoyment.

I had an RS. My two friends both had GT3's and then bought RS's. All of us believe there is a definite difference in throttle response and rear suspension feel (could be geometry, different spring rates, wider track, etc). Also, the RS certainly looks way hotter in my opinion.
