I can see why it wouldnt matter as much on a track car. What if my car would mostly be driven on the street?

some people have suggested that if you were in an accident and your insurance discovered that you no longer had the stock seats (w/side bags) in the car that they may in some way invalidate the coverage ...

I have no idea about the veracity of this observation...

If you don't mind me asking, why switch the seats then? I switched to mine since they are compatible with a bar and harness. If you're going to be street driving I see no need to put yourself through the agony of getting in and out of them You would also lose your heated seats if that means anything to you.

I have broad shoulders as well and solved the "narrow seat issues". I purchased Sparco seat pads and put them behind my 996 GT3 seat pads and this solved the problem. The extra 1/2 - 3/4 " of padding keeps me from feeling like the wings are pushing me into a hunched over position. I hope this helps.
