Question Front suspension noise

Hello all; looking for help on a front suspension noise that began recently (I have 1905 miles on the car now and the noise started approx. 300 miles ago). It happens at fairly low speeds when traversing pavement undulations, manhole covers, etc.

It usually comes from the left front and makes a "boing" or "twang" sound. I have a pit in my garage so I examined the front suspension. The anti-sway bar drop links are tight and there are no shipping spacers on the springs.

There were some previous threads in this regard. No one posted any follow-up that I've found with a discovery of the source of this sound.

I'm sure a trip to the dealer is recommended but the nearest is 100 miles away. Thanks in advance; I don't post much but really enjoy the wealth of knowledge (and opinion!) here.

mine does the same but only once per drive... ie. it won't make a noise until the next drive after the car has sat overnight... very strange.

I've heard it on my previous gt3 when cold and going over a speed bump at 5mph or so...it went away later in the drive or when the weather was warmer.

I have been told that the boing sound on my 996 GT3 is from the front spring.

I was told that the noise is normal. Mine does it, especially if it's cold outside and the car has been parked for a couple of days.

yup - scared the crap out of me when I 1st heard it ... I thought I'd collected a coke can in the wheel arch ... sort of a strange combination of "Boing" and "Kerrrtwang" ... it's the spring "seating" itself in the suspension ...

It is the springs rotating in the perches. Normal.

I get it also, especially in conditions where the car is crossing transverse undulations at low speed and them gets going and has to change direction. I get the exact same sound.

Once at speed, though, it doesn´t tend to happen. Only on some harsher ground.

I use theses bearings between the perch and the spring on my customer's cars.

I like the noise. I can pretend I have a race car :-)
