Yea the Resale Depreciation... for the 996 gt2 the resale value isn't vary strong. Do you guys think that will be the same for the 997 gt2? I mean, their going for 40 or 50K over sticker right now, and I heard they will only bring very limited amount of them into the US; wouldn't that make the resale value equal or maybe better the the RS? Or was that the same case for the 996?

Agreed. I like cars that are special, but I also like it when it takes the trained eye to realize it. As much as I love the throwback colors that Porsche has offered on the new RS, I've almost seen too much of them and now I almost prefer these more understated themes (White/Black w/ No graphics/badging).

dsu* about the 996 gt2- they were retailing for near 200k, and they actually brought about 200 to america- a very low number. the cars still depreciated 45% in 3 or 4 years.

well it depends...RS price will depreciate from the markup levels compared to the GT2 which will depreciate from msrp, maybe a markup depending on the market.
the gt3/RS is pretty much the sweetest NA car you can buy, flog at a track, rip off front lips, brake ducts, and replace them all for 150 bucks here, 200 bucks there...
GT2 is the fastest way to cross the country in a stock Porsche, but still not as fast as an Ruf RT12 or some of the other super turbo aftermarket cars... GT2 will be a hoot on the track, but from the looks of it, not the car you cut the carpets out of, put in a rollbar, and flog til you break it.
different purposes as people keep pointing out. I'd love to own a GT2, but for 200k- I'm looking in different directions. The RS for 35% less (sticker price if you can find one) is certainly enough car for me...
