Default GT3 RS or GT2??

Just wondering, If you guys had a choice to get car right now(you havn't driven both) which one would you purchase? GT3 RS or GT2? And what color would you get them in?

I just got an allocation on a GT3 RS, May production July delivery.
I am debating on the color of the car. I always wanted a White one with black or grey decals and rims. But couple days ago I saw a picture on 6speed, a Black with silver decals and rims. That car looks sooo sick. Silver mirrors...

gimme some thoughts and opinions please. I will spec out the car pretty soon.

Thanks a lot =)

If you plan on tracking the car, get the RS. If you are going to cruise around on Saturday, then get the GT2.

Would you hurt yourself on the track with the GT2 and the xtra power?

Nah, I don't believe that with the 997 gt2. From what I've read they are much more predictable than an unsetup 996 gt2. I think the conception is just that most people won't be using the full potential of the RS, so why widen that gap with the GT2 if tracking. Having tracked turbo and NA cars myself, I can see the appeal of a powerful NA car. Since the response is immediate you can focus more on simply the precision of your inputs like getting on the gas in a particular place in a corner instead of picking a place and then getting on earlier to account for lag, etc. That being said, it may be perhaps better to explain this to an uninitiated potential buyer and then let them decide for themselves if that's important to them in a track car. GT2 seems like it would make a fine track car, it would just be more demanding.

well...that's what i heard/thought. but my porsche sales called me and told me he can get me an RS, May production. While he was on the phone the porsche regional rep was next to him. The rep confirmed that the production month.

I guess this is one of the last production RS.

I saw documentation that said production in Dec or Jan. I dont see how you could get a new RS allocation.

If thats true then so much for limited production.

hahaha I think we read the same document. Last production dec or early jan.
I gave up on the RS at that time. But while looking for a gt3 and a gt2 I found this RS.

It's great that I finally get to have my own spected out RS, but no more limited production? Probably like the CGT, was only gonna build around 500 or something, but ended up a lot more than that.

I hate this whole aura/stigma around the GT2, "get rs if track, gt2 if cruising" why? Because most people can't learn the car or handle it? It's a FINE *** track car and that's for damn certain!

BTW they are in a different price range, GT2 for me !

In typical, modern-day Porsche fashion...They got greedy.

You 100% believe that the allocation is there? If so, that is great news for those of use that wanted one but didn't get an MSRP allocation. This is the first I have heard of any new builds. Perhaps they'll just decide to make as many as they can sell. If so, anyone out there want to dump a used black RS at below MSRP before the market collapses ?
