Default RS weight check - are my results in line?

Hey, I just had track alignment and corner weighting done on my RS today. I am a bit surprised at the weight result:

1/4 tank of gas
996 GT3 seats (knocked off around 80# from the stock seats)
Sharky's muffler by-pass (18# or so weight reduction)
Stock RS wheels (I know they're heavy) and MPSC's

Weighed and double-checked at 3102 pounds.
And 38% F / 62% R weight distribution.

Seems a bit piggish to me - any opinions out there by those who've weighed theirs?

And sorry if this topic has been discussed to death already - I searched but could not find a good thread on it.

Thanks.

I haven't weighed mine yet, but I only lost 65 lbs max from switching out the sport seats with the 997 carbon GT3 seats. Based on your results, I am hoping my scale was off.

Switching out Sport Seats for 997 GT3 seats will only save you 65lbs and if your stock seats were Sport Adaptive seats you will have saved 75 lbs. Your cars weight with a quarter tank of gas sounds about right.

do you have xenons or halogen headlights? you can also get a smaller battery...and take the stuff out of the front trunk.

I recently weighed mine...3060 lbs with empty fuel tank. So yours with a 1/4 tank is close to mine.

My car has: 996 GT3 seats; RS roll bar; FE; Xenons; OEM RS wheels; PCCBs

I believe the sharky delete is 14.5 pounds when you properly weigh all the brackets.

Gut the front trunk of the tools and all the plastic and foam (approx 20#s) get some lighter wheels (another #25) and with zero gas the car is very close to #3000 and still wife approved with a/c and a radio - not bad.

My GT3 (with sunroof approx 40#s) with justover 1/2 tank is 3140 and I have a #50 pound half cage but have done the same seats, the wheels, the front trunk and lwfw so you car looks correct - looks like you have pccbs (so do I)

Looks about right. I have same seats w 6 point harness', RS rollbar, removed tools in the trunk, but still have carpet and plastic, CCW wheels with R888's, FULL and topped off !! tank of gas, iron rotors came in at 3245 LBS, which would put me just under 3100 without gas.

The weight is a bit piggish as you say, but most 997 hit big numbers on the scale.

Based on your upgrades, and using my data, your car should weight 3,104 lbs.

A no options US 997 GT3 RS weighs 3,140 lbs, with the open top version at 3,200 lbs. These are weights with all fluids, but zero fuel.

The 996 Recaro bucket seats save 50 lbs, not 80 lbs. The Sharky pipes another 14 lbs. The 1/4 fuel tank adds 28 lbs.

3,140 + 28 lbs fuel - 50 lbs seats - 14 lbs pipes = 3,104 lbs.

A full tank on the US 997 GT3 weighs 111 lbs, not 145 lbs as the ROW fuel tank.
