Default Sound System Problem: GT3RS

I just took delivery of my new GT3RS, and I am more than happy with it.

I am having a problem with the cd changer. It comes on when I start the car, and I cannot turn it off. There is no sound and I cannot eject the disc, adjust the volume, or switch it to am or fm. It shows the track of the cd, and changes from one track to another on its own as if it is playing the cd, but it will accept no user inputs of any kind. It is like a computer that is frozen up. I have, of course, turned the car off and on, started it, etc., but always the same result.

Any ideas, or is this just a sign that I need to get a louder exhuast and forget about the radio?

Take it to the dealer, it sounds like the pcm (radio) is fubar. They will most likely have to replace it. It is not uncommon for the pcms to have a mind of their own. Or just go with the exhaust idea, enjoy your rs awesome Porsche.

Try to disconnect and reconnect power to PCM and CD changer to see if the system will rest itself. Try to pull and reinsert corresponding fuses?

I had a similar problem with my 2003 turbo. The dealer replaced the radio twice before the problems stopped most of the time. Even with the 3rd radio, it would occasionally fail to function.

I had the same problem with my RS.
On mine it was almost like it was on permanent mute. It was intermittent. I found that when I tapped the volume button quickly a few times, it would correct itself.
