Yup, they also add character to the car.

Actually for me, ever since I heard of the clear bra I have not looked back. The stuff is amazing and it looks fine to me; I could care less about being able to see it a little bit. Besides, if you wrap 60% of your car, then it really makes waxing easy!

Speaking of clear bra, here's what happened to me.

A car made a u-turn in front of me but could not clear the turn. The driver then decided to back up the car without looking behind and as result:

I then had my clear bra guy come over to replace the clear bra. I expected to see some paint damage:

Not a single scratch underneath and the original factory paint's still good! I was totally surprised to see that. I heard so much about it and seeing is truly believing!

I had clear bra on all my cars except my Honda Civic. I had its front bumber repainted 2 times and each time the shade of color looks off compare to the rest of the body. After each repaint, chips started to show again with just a few thousand miles and looked like shotgun blasts. Repaint results can never be as good as original factory paint.

According to some clear bra installer, repainted bumper makes it more difficul to install or to remove because the paint may be pulled off.

glad it worked out for you.
i spoke with body shops about repaints. two very reputable shops told me that if someone told you that paint needed 30 days to cure before clear bra, the painter didn't prep the car right. he told me just cover the car and pull if off immediately after he release the car to me. if paint comes off, he will repaint to my heart's content. we tested it and he's right. good paint is good paint. the shop does a bunch of Ferrari and Porsches.

back to films. it's not perfect by any means, but for a bit of money, you get peace of mind. i dont spend 60 min after every wash searching for chips anymore.

Very true mooty. We have a general rule of 30 days because there are way too many bodyshops performing subpar prep / paint work......it's scary when we get a car in here and there are drips, shrinkage, dust, etc. in the new paint job - we just don't want to work on it. There are only 2 companies we trust to have the paint done and ready for us to film immediately.
