Default paint chips

went on a mtn run this past weekend and had a blast. after a good wash down, i noticed i had a few paint chips above where my clear bra ended(should've done my entire hood). does anyone know whats the best way to fix the paint chips and who to go to.

here are some pics from the drive:

you've got a few options, but most of them suck.

chip it up even more, and respray eventually.

go get the full hood done, and eventually respray, then re do the full hood.

respray it or get fill in paint- then do the full hood.

Mike, go talk to the service mgr at either Ellis or Hennessey. They usually have an airbrush guy who comes by once a week to touch up cars...uses an ultra fine airbrush to fill in small scratches, looks great.

That's the one I'm going for.

I like the idea...if you like and are ok with his work...this is a good option.

If not this seems like your best choice...

if they are pin sized, just touch it up with a fine touch up stick and apply film onto the entire hood

Default I'd just ignore it, it's part of driving the car

Sad but true. You'll get more. It's a losing battle.

You could drive it so fast that no one can see the paint chips. that is the one I go for.

Just leave it alone, I also got tons of paint chip on my Lotus, but the car is mean to drive hard!

And I don't like those 3M thing.

Cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed in their raw beauty. If you track the car 100% of the time, I can understand the need for the clearbra, but if you don't track it all the time, get the nose repainted once a year or once every two years. Document each time it was painted with pictures; I did this with my 993 Turbo and sold the car for top dollar, even with the paint work.

I used to think the same as well with my 996 GT3. However, only after 4000 miles in about 6 months, the front end of my Porsche looked like it was 6 yrs old. Had it done on my 997 Turbo and drove it for several thousand miles and the front end was pristine. I just had it done by site sponsor Premier Mobile and once again will enjoy the orange sucker without worrying about all the stuff getting onto the freeway. Just yesterday there was gravel spill on a major highway here in the Bay Area and one of my coworkers were in it..came back with nicks all over the place and a cracked windshield. It's just a peace of mind for me at least.

Thanks for the tips. I never got the 3m clear bra on my c4s and it has a few rock chips (2) to be exact with 8000 miles, but the GT3 has a few more with only 3000 miles of driving.

Must not be driving fast enough!!

I've got the bra on the full hood, fenders, 8 inches of the roof, pillars, rockers, etc...everywhere that can get blasted. Then this weekend, while at the track, a freakin pine cone fell and dented my roof!
