Old prices is my guess also, and don't forget you just quoted a Euro price.

Porsche parts prices (at least for the GT3, I have not checked others) have gone through the roof.

Want to guess what a brand new set of GT3 wheels go for from Sunset Porsche at their cost + 15% price? About $9K!!!

For dealers who charge full retail on the wheels, try about $12K!!! btw, the black ones are about $300.00 more each than the silver. This is why I am keeping my stock wheels and certainly not selling them for 4 or even $5K; that would be a great deal for someone, and not for me.

All the parts needed to convert to the RS wing and trunklid went for about $4K 6 months ago when Viper Bob still had some left in stock. Now you will pay $8K for the same parts.

Why is this? My take, the weak dollar, and the fact that Porsche is not going to raise prices of the cars themselves to the levels they should be (at least here in the US). We are used to about 2% each year for the new car MSRP's; going up 15 or 20% is not going to work. Goodbye to any of the entry level car sales, and most of the higher end also. But the parts, who pays attention to those other than the insurance industry and a few of us nuts. Wait until the insurance industry catches up to the current prices of OEM Porsche parts; I would expect some increases in your rates sometime soon.

If I sell my GT3, I think I will just part it out; I figure I can get about $200K for it that way!

btw, you can get the OEM Cup front lip spoiler for about $160.00 from FVD. The RS and regular GT3 front spoilers go for about $270.00 from FVD.

I have a Cup one in my parts bedroom that I bought 2 weeks ago, I might just pick up one or two more before they double in price.

White GT3 for daily driving and track days. Gallardo for weekend fun drives. Excellent!

I drive a 996 RS as a daily driver and I love it. The 997 GT3 is much friendlier for that purpose. Congrats, you're gonna love it! And it's much more fun than a TT.

The sound of the LIP scraping never gets better a small price to pay.

A 3 wheel teeter entering my driveway is a regular event!

How many spare front lip spoiler do you guys stock?

I just called Sunset Porsche and I was quoted $144.34 a piece! I already have one and thinking of getting one more...

FWIW, I do double layer of Guerilla Tape across the bottom half and around the bottom edge of the lip spoiler to minimize the scuff and replace the tape when it's all torn-up. So far it's been working out okay...

I think the hoopla over stocking up on spare lips is a bit much. It'll take a long time to wear the lip down enough to warrant replacement, imo. Plus, it wears neatly (at least the standard black version).

That is a great price, I will have to give them a call.
