Progress:

New cage
new seats
lexan
complete A/C removal
New roof skin
removal of door panels

Roll cage. Plenty of room to get in and out.

New roof skin going on. I had it painted black to match the CF hood and the black wing and deck lid

NICE. Which roof skin did you go with, GMG of factory? Progress looks great.

Talking Weight, Steering Wheel, etc

Weight: 2987 without driver and 1/2 tank. The roll bar was 160 lbs alone. I want it to be lighter, of course.

The steering wheel is great. I had the shop install it. You must leave the steering sensor installed in the car but other than that the install was just fine. I made friends with the shop foreman at the local P car shop and he spent some time turning off the all of the items that he could find. He asked me to sign a simple waiver.

Roof skin: We put on a skin that is a standard skin. Sheet metal I assume. It is not a carbon fiber roof. It is 8 lbs heavier than the Getty CF roof. We weighed Tom's Getty roof and this roof before they were installed. The sheet metal was about $300. The CF roof was about $1,000. I believe the sunroof and all trim pieces including the headliner removes about 37 pounds.

Thanks for all the great comments.

I ran it at CHIN over the weekend and it performed very well. My lap times were no better than when I ran in November. It was probably my fault as I have not driven since early December because of shoulder surgery. LSD is completely gone in the car. My inside tire is spinning like crazy and I have to wait for the car to sit and get traction. It is a real pain. I believe I am going to have a cup car LSD installed. Other items this week: window net, traqmate dual cameras, cool suit, alignment, fire system tweak, ECU work. PBOC Florida race coming up on May 16 & 17th.

why so heavy.
take out the bumper structures, cup cars dont' have them.
remove fan, ac, heater core.
window.

you should be at 2600 tops with no fuel and roll cage

Man, I know. What is up with the weight? Maybe the scale is off? I have no a/c or heater core including pipes and compressor. It is all out. I took out the front bumper structure. Lexan front and back and the side windows are going lexan this week too. I have CF hood, no sunroof, and a CF deck lid and wing. Something is not right.....
