Well, that's quite a lot of changes. I trust you checked with the dealer to confirm this wouldn't impact the warranty.

Garrett, a lot of people don't understand the tremendous satisfaction obtained from building your own car and then competing with it, regardless of the cost...kudos to you man for gutting it out

...if I was going to do it over, I would have used the 3.8 (X51) so I could be in the new GTB class...I think it will be cheaper to maintain in the long run than my GT3 and not much slower.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I am very pleased with the results of the build. I am much faster in this car than I was in my 2005 Cup and it is much more planted in the corners. It is 100lbs lighter than a 997 Cup, pulls on them out of the corners and out brakes the Cups hands down. Currently the motor is out as we are bumping it to 3.8l with higher compression. Before we pulled the motor it dynoed at 409 RWHP. We are predicting 440 RWHP after the build.

Yes it was very expensive to build but to me it was well worth it.

Here are a couple of pics from Cal Speedway a few weeks ago.

That is a magnificent ride. I can only imagine how much fun that would be to drive on the track! Kudos on your build...

That car rocks. I'd want to go in a similar direction, but keep it streetable.

Very nice, congrats!

You say it dynoed at 409 at the wheels? This is a stock 997 GT3 motor?

So what is the final weight of the car? I know you said 100 lighter than a Cup, but I forgot how much the Cups are.

I ran with Garrett at Cal Speedway a few weeks back in the car's debut. On the track the car looks really planted in my mirrors going thru the banking and he is already faster than he was in his cup. With a little more seat time I'll be telling you how it looks from the rear.....
