I have heard the new 7 speed pdk gonna weight 50kg more than stick.
Ouch! Of course it could be 200kg and they'd still sell just fine. After all, how much pride can you have in your expensive sports car with a stick and clutch. It's just so "last-year"!

As much as I hate this fashion-driven move to paddles on road cars, they do have a few advantages. They are good for track work, and you can't argue with getting an extra gear. And I suppose it does make the car easier to drive in stop-start traffic. But I just don't like them - they destroy so much driver involvement. I drove my brother's F430 F1 again this weekend and I simply cannot warm to the paddles. Oh well, I'm a dinosaur I guess.
