Default 997 GT3 Oil Level Dipstick parts found (maybe)

This is what I found on the 997 GT3 parts diagram:

11k OEM-99620723194 Oil level dipstick
12k OEM-99620703190 Guide tube

It doesn't show it actually in the diagram, but it's in the parts list. The price is cheap enough for me to order and see if it works or not. I'll let everyone know when I get it in about a week.

If it works, this would be my prefered method of checking oil level. Obviously, the same procedure still applies as with the electronic method, but this will give me a better mechanical verification.

The thing I disklike about the electronic method is that the readings are never consistent.

It's highlighted in red in the parts list. Ahh...I see your point. Nope, it's not in the diagram, just in the parts list. I wonder what the "K" designation mean?

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to your DIY report.

I'm amazed by the downright friendly prices!

btw, I also can't find the two items you've marked in red on the pictorial...

David,
Do you know where the dip stick guide tube goes?

It's not clear to me exactly how much work is involved in doing this modification.

I'm hoping that the guide tube has some sort of clip that goes inside the filler tube and is somehow secured in place. Then the dip stick simply is guided down to the tank which allows you to get a mechanical reading.

If this is the case, it's a simply DIY. We'll know soon.

In looking at the diagram it appears the oil tank has a provision for the dipstick tube to enter the oil tank. Dont know if the non-dipstick cars have an oiltank with that hole in it or if the oil tank itself would be another required part number for the mod.

Re-ordered from Sunset Imports for $7 and $12, but the guide is a special order from Germany. 4 weeks! Any how, we'll just have to wait.

You should be able to do a rush (3 day) order from Germany for ~$20USD.

"K" is a designation Porsche uses in the PET for Motorsports Part.
