Improving the GT3 Exhaust Note, On the Cheap ?
There are alot of exhaust products available for the GT3. Some newer products at dollar figures approaching $6000! BUT I'M NOT SEEING ANY SIGNIFICANT DYNO PERFORMANCE GAINS FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY !!!
I'm happy with the performance of my GT3, but I would like to get a bit louder/deeper exhaust note. Are there any cheaper ways of doing so ?
Thanks

I'd think you'd have to spend quite a bit of $ to get any significant power gains. Cargraphic, FVD and AWE both claim gains. For sound and minimal if any gains, get either a Sharkwerks or GMG rear section exhaust replacement. If you don't gain any hp, at least you'd be losing 15 lbs. I think those systems are $1800 and $2100 respectively.

i couldnt stand the sound changes with the factory set up. one sound at idle, another at low rpm, then louder at high rpm. sounded very artificial like a cd playing on the stereo.
my solution was to unplug the vacuum switch so now it sounds louder at idle same as if sport button is on. takes 30 seconds to do with no tools and is reversible whenever you want. sound stays consistent thru out rpm range. only down side is slight droning for few seconds around 3000 rpm in 6th when step on gas. search this topic for fotos/how to.
cost/benefit satisfied me but i would like it still louder with lighter weight and zero droning. that would be worth max $2000 installed for me. until that product exists, im good with unpluged switch

Well, I always drive it in Sport Mode... how do you activate the switch so that it is on Sport all the time?
Here's the sound of my stock exhaust:

The problem with unplugging the system is it sounds no better up top.. same as sport mode. It sounds better down low, definitely a more natural soundtrack, but it is loud at ~3K and does drone.
