malibu 10/22 fire

i got the fire around my house under control but lost my carports and outbuildings. the strad was safe in the garage, and the gt3 was down at the shop in W LA.

night fighting was new to me from 1 am to 7 am just to get space around my house, but the 93 malibu fire was much more dangerous for me.

Sorry man!! I grew up in Manhattan Beach and know your area well. Were you in the same house for the 93 fire?

 

it wasn't not really anything bad, just alot of work. i like the firefighting part but the heat, no power no sleep gets old.... we're cruising now...

and the good news: 14-15 years of peace and no fires

and the reality is it's part of life here

i was down there on saturday doing some work.....it looks like Rambla Pacifico.....i actually shot a pic. of your carport......sorry for your loss.....at least no one got hurt......

Looks like you won't have to worry about fire again for a while. Glad you were able to dodge that bullet.

 

watt, sorry to see that the fire got so close to your house.
glad you, strad and GT3 are ok.
i drove to so cal this past week and can smell the ashes/dust in the air.

 

it looks real bad now, but I am sure the rate of recovery will pleasantly surprise you. Its one of the few times I am gratedul for living in a fairly wet place!
