Does Porsche care if it sells Audis or PCars?

However, I got to spank my buddy's new GT3 the other day after the R8 and for the same money it would be a very tough call--that could go either way to be honest. If you lean more towards the track I think maybe the GT3 takes it, but for a real honest to god daily driver the R8 is probably the one you'd want to live with. But then again....oh, I don't know....they're probably the two best cars in the world right now--well except for the 599 but then you're talking real money!
Ditto. I've spent a week in one as well and it's a blast. Fast, turn-in is great, neutral and planted in the corners. The engine sound is fantastic.

Here's a link to that EVO article comparing the R8 to a C4S, etc. : http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/carg...e_vantage.html

I wonder what the RS8 will be like...

Maybe I can?

Its a VERY good looking car in person. The interior is quite nice too, excellent fit and finish.

It is a great looking car, but your photo does illustrate some of the problems.

Look at the front fish gills and headlight from this angle, its not elegant and does the actual car no favours.

What the hell is that random black panel doing there? It would look 1000x better if it was the same color as the rest of the car.

Audi had a couple of R8s here when we had the ALMS race in Houston. It's a nice looking car, looks smaller in person, very cool. I wouldn't trade my Turbo for it, but it's a nice car. I hear rumors about a twin turbo V8 instead of the V10 in the R8s future. With 500 HP it would be a match for the Turbo, right now it's on par with the C4SX51.

you would hate it

bad back, blah blah

too slow, blah blah

too bling, blah blah

if you really want one, I'm told you can pick them up at 181 Via Trevizio,
Corona, CA, 92879 - that's where they go to have the engine bay lights installed.

PS sell Audi some of those wild GPS skills and they will happily pay in R8 rides

I saw one at the Audi tent at Sebring last March. As others have said, it looks way better in person. Really sweet looking car!

The Audi doesn't really do it for me. Still, shame that the DOT has the car companies crush their test mules and press cars at the end of the press junkets. What a waste. Our government at work.
