Default GT-1 or CGT/Update?

Is an updated or new super car from Porsche, to replace the GT-1 or CGT, in the works? Any information? Thanks in advance for all it input.

I think they are very busy with the Panamera right now. I haven't heard any rumors at all about a replacement yet.

Seem the logic leans to Ferrari's 599/612 flagship route -- put a big engine (V10 or bigger) in the front and create a higher-price ($250K and higher) super GT. While maintain the 911 as the mainstream mid-size sports car (Flat 6 or Flat 8). And keeps the Boxster/Cayman as the entry-level lighter-weight fun-to-drive sports car (Flat-6)

This sounds like a good high/mid/entry sports car product line for Porsche.

Just a thought...

With best regards,
- Alex.

I like this pic of the coupe as well. I think it is mean in a up town way. I think it would look great in black.

Imagine a V-10,putting out 550-600 N.A. Porsche HP (as in, no BS). Maybe about 3800 lbs?

Where do I sign...

Whilst this very nice looking car has its merits -

its not a Panamera, and nothing like one. The Panamera is going to be a four door, think Volkswagen Cayenne meets Volkswagen Q7, has a baby and gets sat on by an elephant, the resutring child is sent to a cosmetic surgeon with a 911 fetish.

the biggest problem of the 612 approach is the sheer size of the car. It is not convenient in European cities. Its wider than some Italian village streets. Small cars are more fun to drive than big cars.

The Aston Martin Rapide will be a much more accomplished option unless the engineers screw things up completely, which I have good reason to doubt.

Talk to a German petrol head and you will hear soimething like 'I want / (have) a 911, but I desire an Aston Martin' - powerful brand.

Though you and I have disagreed in the past, I must say your posts are very informative and entertaining. I look forward to reading them though they may be on subjects I have no interest in (like the Panamera).

Aston Martin has great looks but little else is compelling at the moment, we all live in hope! But, I'm not holding my breath.

Good engines, advanced Al engineering, a 'factory' race program, a CEO who successfully races his own cars - when did you last see Wiedeking drive in a competitive race - too damn busy puffing on a cigar. One day PAG will wake up and AM will have stolen a chunk of their market. In places like the Gulf, Russia, China, the AM brand is doing amazingly well, in the old world we gre up with P-cars, in the new world they watched James Bond driving AM, also even the feeblest AM is extreemely elegant.

Sure the chassis needs refinement, that will come, the 911 is sorted in that respect, but then so it damn well should be, its drawing a pension.
