Default Attention CDN Customers re:2008 pricing

I just heard from someone who told me the CDN pricing for all models will be dropping, due to the US/CDN $ exchange. Has anyone heard anything about what the pricing would be. I have a feeling CDN buyers of 2007 models are going to be seriously pissed off when they hear that 08 models will significantly reduced. If you go to the Porsche website the MSRP are no longer displayed.

Stay tuned. I guess the CDN dealers have been complaining plus the CDN dollar has been getting stronger.

Yes, the prices will drop. About 11%.
Yes, there will be upset customers but what are you going to do? Keep the ridiculous price disparity going?

I hope the sinking USD will cause prices to rise here in the US for 08 and beyond. That should help offset some of the killer depreciation Porsche is becoming known for.

So does that mean a 2008 RS will be 152,000 instead of $171,000?

Yup. If you can get a 2008 RS it would be about 152,000 base.

There's a thread about this on the Rennlist Canada forum with more details. PCNA is damned if they do and damned if they don't. As a customer who is impacted by this (I bought what is probably the very last 2007 GT3 manufactured), I am still happy that Porsche is finally addressing the price difference.

If it puts more GT3's and Porsches into enthusiast's hands, I'm all for it. Something to keep in mind, there are only eight GT3 allocations for all of Canada in 2008 so the price difference this year won't have much impact on re-sale pricing. Those eight future owners are damn lucky though!!!

You mean RS. There will be more than 8 regular GT3 for Canada in 2008. BTW price drop will affect all models, not just the GT3.

I gave up an '08 GT3 allocation. I could have also had a late '07 (pre-price drop) allocation but passed.

PCNA had no choice but to drop prices. US Imports (like mine) were flooding into Canada.

I was told 8 GT3 allocations for all of Canada for 2008, but who knows how accurate these numbers are. Regardless, even though I lost out, I think Porsche did the right thing.
