Putting 245/35s on the front of a GT3?
Has anybody put 245/35s instead of the stock size 235/35 size tires on the front of a 997/GT3? Would there be any positive or negative ramifications of such a move? Seems like a little more front tire would be a good thing?
Thanks,

I don't understand why Porsche doesn't have a sophisticated enough ABS computer that can calibrate itself to the tire sizes. It should be able to compensate for any reasonable differential in speed.
For example, if the system periodically measured the axle rpm of each tire in a variety of driving conditions and speeds, it should be able to calculate the effective diameters of each tire within a very small tolerance. This would improve ABS perfomance and TC, etc...

Flash,
Like they say, bigger is better! I do think that this car understeers a lot. Adding some rubber in the front decreases the understeer. I am currently running 255 in the front with 315 in the back. I love it. If they would fit I would run a MPSC 265 in the front but I am not sure they would fit. 245 or 255 make the car turn so much better. Try it and you will love it!

As long as you keep the outside diameter within 4% of stock you are ok from everything I've read. I see all sorts of tires and sizes on 996-997 based cars at my track events and everyone seems to be fine.
