Congratulations...it is such a wonderful car...I agree with the positive PCCBs comments, and I rather reduce weight this way instead of deleting things like AC and NAV. Any way you order it, it is such involving car that you will not pay attention to anything else but the driving....

Unless it is different now, you cannot get adaptives or heat in an RS.

I sincerely doubt Xenons weight an additional 50 lbs or anything near that.

Dash wart is silly and near-useless. At the track I don't have time for that three pump stalk drill while lapping at speed. Legitimate lap times are measured in hundreths and thousandths, manual resets are not consistant with such accuracy.

Nav...? Do you get lost easy or plan to use this car for road trips?

I did get a lot of carbon because I like it. And I got orange deviated stitching for the same reason. CCB's were a must for me, even though I track it as much as I street drive it. They are great!

If ever there was a car that no one needs, it is this one, so have fun and get what you like! For most of us this is a very rare event.

I hope you are right. I flipped out when I heard that. I was told it had to do with the gas cannisters for the lights. Was that total BS? Thanks

50 lbs for xenons? That's funny. With ballast, leveling/beam motors, etc. they're going to be heavier than halogen bulbs, but not significantly.

The chrome headlight washer nipples are ugly, though...opt for body color if you order xenons.

As for the rest of the options, to me the whole point of an RS is the minimalist driving experience, and I'd option it accordingly...but to each his own.

Having had 6 Cups I am familiar with the minimalist aspect. The RS is a street car, get the NAV. Even a plus at resale time.

I did a tentative option list for my 08 on Monday using the 07 order guide. No mention of heated or adaptive seats. Are these new for 08? I have been asking the salesman since Monday to get an 08 option list.

Gas cannisers for the lights? To hold the Xenon I would guess?

Now that is one stupid motha' (assuming of course that they really believe that themselves).

I think the gas cannisters are part of the lighted door sills option. Something about balance...

Here is my final order (or until 10am tomorrow). Thanks to all who replied.

Orange
Full leather
PCCB
Xenon
Storage lid with logo
Gear trim orange
Center console orange
Foot rest aluminun
Mats.

I know the leather is not necessary, but I hate Porsche plastic in all their cars.

Anyone vote for adding orange stiching? Gees, it $2750 for the whole package, that just seems excessive to me.

Silver seat belts?

Floor mats with orange edging?

Thanks again for the tips.

Choices look good so far. I really like the interior paint. The trim panel and center consul painted look really good.

Consider red tailights. They look good. Painted consoles chip easier than CF...

I got the orange stitching and silver seat belts--a chunk of change for small, but classy details. Also opted out of the stitching for the seats as they were replaced with CF buckets (this saved +/-$900.00). Get it exactly like you want it. You'll forget about the $ I promise. This opportunity is a rare one!
