Default Screw or Pop Rivet holding your chin spoiler??

Finally changed my chin spoiler for the first time and found that I have a pop rivet on each end that holds the original spoiler in place rather than the screws others have described. How many GT3's out there have pop rivets vs screws?? My GT3 was a Feb bulid. I wonder if they switched from pop rivets to screws or vice versa after a certain build date?

The new Cup spoiler that I got from TRG snaps in without needing to replace pop rivet. I will probably remove the rivets and replace them with screws so I can switch back and forth betwen the Cup and OEM spoiler.

What are you paying for OEM spoiler? I gotten quotes from $89 to $279 from dealers.

Mine came with screws (Oct build). Of course they have both fallen out ... but spoiler stays on just fine without them

Quite the range!

Where did you find the $89 one?

Circle Porsche Audi in Long Beach Ca., but they're out of stock and there are none at the regional warehouse. They are waiting for a shipment from Germany. A different parts guy at Circle also quoted $279. That why I'm wondering if there's been a price change or what the hell is going on.

for $89, is that the lip spoiler or is that the tiny baby lip at the center of the chin spoiler of the RS?

my dealer is way confused on which piece is which and to date have not been able to get anything to show me.

Many dealers are confused re the RS parts; both pieces (the extension and chin spoiler) really ought to be sold as a set (so as to avoid the confusion). But here is what I have come up (after some research):

RS Chin Spoiler -- 997-505-983-93

RS Extension -- 997-505-996-90

A few dealers have the RS extension in stock (it is about $90), but I don't think anyone has the chin spoiler yet. My dealer ordered a couple a few months ago, but nothing yet . . . .

The GT3 has a separate part number for the chin spoiler (and no extension). I think the chin spoiler for the GT3 is 997-505-983-92.

Check with ViperBob (on this board and a sponsor) on the price for the GT3 Chin Spoiler (not the tiny little RS lip). He has very good prices on them and he is located in Tampa.

Both spoilers are identical except thet the RS spoiler is drilled for the extra center RS spoiler to bolt to. If you can only get the GT3 spoiler you can drill it yourself. The RS center spoiler has a drilled backup strip that could be used as a drilling guide.
