RS rear speakers

That's correct...Porsche make the car heavier, softer and quieter than the 996 GT3 and then leave out the rear speakers to save weight...........or was that money. Also no gravel guard for the rear fenders....that would be waaaaaaaaay to heavy. But I love the footwell lighting package...it makes up for all the missing stuff like cage, seats, fire extinguisher plastic rear window, battery cut-off etc.

That's so sad... Porsche should add a no cost option for rear speakers, and another no cost option for the following items:
- Sunroof
- Chrome Wheels
- Carbon Spoiler Delete
- More sound insulation

The dealer is doing the seats, roll cage etc....so I told them to go ahead and throw in a couple of decent speakers for the rear. (figured I could do twenty minutes on the treadmill to make up the weight
) Unless you've ordered an upgraded stereo system, your radio does not have a back channel for rear speakers. Furthermore, even if you change the radio out for a better one that has a rear channel for the speakers, the harness (which handles various things like ac, dash panel, etc.) has to be replaced as well and could create a expensive problem/solution. And, if you add the speakers to the front channel, you risk blowing a channel. That simply sux, so I ditched the idea all together.

No NJ-GT, what's sad is someone who takes any and every opporunity to complain about a car he still owns. Ron, what I don't get is why you keep punishing yourself?
I could deal with your babbling on about how bad the new RS is IF you sold it, but you still own it. The poor thing has turned into you bastard son.

Well, Ron has a point. It used to be that Porsche created stripped down performance models and sold them at a stripped down price. The 968 clubsport, 911 RS America come to mind. Now white is a $4k premium.
