Dealer call last night and I will be picking up my car sometime Thursday...There's a Metro NY PCA DE next Monday-Tuesday at Summit Point...doubt the car will have more than 500 miles by then...too early to track it??

I am probably at the minority here, but I would suggest you put about 1000 - 1500 miles on it before tracking your beast to make sure you break in everything properly. Check your owners manual.

I experienced a significant loosening up and improvement in shifting ease after 3000 mi. The transmission went from very notchy and hard to shift to buttery smooth so it is obvious that a breakin in process has been going on.
I did not baby it, but I waited for the oil temp to reach operating temp before pushing it. I progresively increased RPM's over the first 2000mi. I am sure you can enjoy your car while being a little conservative to allow for breaking in the car as well as for you to learn how it handles.

I agree. I followed the 2000 mile break in and then did about 10 runs from 20- 30 mph in 5th gear to as fast as I could. It supposedly helps too.

Just go and track it.
I had 70 miles on my 996 GT3 when I had it on track the first time.
I understand that in the European manuals, there is not a 2000 mile break in. Also, keep in mind the US manual has a RECOMMENDED break in period - not mandatory.
Although I had probably over 1000 miles on my 997 GT3 before having it on track, I can tell you that if my RS is here before the next track day I can make, it won't matter how many miles are on it!
I am not saying you should thrash it, but drive it reasonably regardless of miles and you will enjoy!
And Summit may not be the best track, but it is a fun track.

Summit Point is far enough away. Drive there and have fun.
Upshift at 7k if you wish to baby it.
After the event change oil. Your engine will be broken in very nicely.
