Default 08' on order for Jan Delivery!

Woohoo...

Black/black wheels, Bi-xenon, FE, mats, crest on headrest, leather steering wheel. MSRP.

Will be built in Dec and delivered in Jan! Can't wait for xmas

Word is that some dealers in So-Cal is returning everyone's deposit for the 08s because they will be marking these up by $10-20K. If the depositor still wants to be on the list, they'll have to pay a premium. Reason is that Porsche will make fewer GT3s in 08.

I wouldn't have thought that dealers had 08 allocations (for any model) yet. This seems overly specific for this early in the game.

That's what I thought too. But I was on the phone with the dealer as we put my car together. Even got an Order Reference Number (AKA Pro Forma Invoice) to track the build progress. He said he just got the allocation this week. Which falls in line with what some has posted here where dealers will get their allocations in June.

See order below. Sorry I had to blur out some info as I'm not sure if the dealer wanted me to post anything here. It all looks legit and I asked him if this is just a prelim for his dealer. He responded "no, no...your order is in the system at Porsche to be built in Dec"

Nice. Didn't realize that allocations were out yet though; thought there were officially coming out late June.

Yes, as soon as US cars get Lexan, cage, and CF seats.

I wanted to post a picture of the XD9 option just so you are fully aware of the differences between that and option CRX. I was surprised and a bit confused the first time I saw this car. Notice the black car with black wheels has less black paint than the white car with black wheels. The silver rim has more coverage between each spoke group.

Option - XD9

Option - XD9

Option - CRX

I had option XD9 and my car had the wheels painted like the pic you posted with "CRX".

All XD9 is "wheels and caps exterior color". CRX is used to designate a certain wheel type and the color i believe.

I was confused as well when i first placed my order:

Speak with your dealer and clarify exatly what you want that way if its wrong at delivery they will make it right. Good luck!

There is only one wheels/same color option and it's the XD9 (according to the Porsche Build it yourself site). But I'm hoping it's the the same as the CRX one you posted above. Me no likey just having the spokes painted. The ones at the dealers have the CRX paint scheme. Maybe they changed it? That's a good post and I'll have to talk to my dealer about that before the cutoff date.

I was told that the price increase is about 2% for the car and 1% for the options (historical fact)? How did you arrive at 10%? God I hope not.

There was a post where someone took delivery of a triple black and the wheels look like it had the CRX paint scheme. I'll have to ask him what the option list say.

Just confirmed the above with my dealer. He said the XD9 option will have the same paint scheme as the CRX. Maybe the new version has the paint all over the face except the lip. Be curious to see what month the ones w just the spokes painted was.

I'm also releasing the dealer info. So if anyone wants one, contact him below. Just tell him David Nguyen sent ya.

He's the Sales Mgr there and has been with Porsche for 14 yrs. He also added that a 10% price increase is unheard of from Porsche from one MY to the next. The most he's ever seen an increase was between the 996s and 997s and that was at most 2%. Dealer markup is a different story.

I've also seen a white/white GT3 with the same wheel paint scheme with XD9 option. Both were April 07 delivery to CT.

I have a question regarding dealer mark up...

I put down a deposit and ordered the car knowing that I will get the car at MSRP. There's no way I would have ordered the car knowing that the dealer will not sell for MSRP. Since I'm already in their system for a Dec. build (See first post), can the dealer screw me and decide to mark the car up once it's built/delivered?

I'm just paranoid since there's only 105 3s for 08'. In no way I'm saying that this particular dealer will do it, but can they if they wanted to?
