I would find the situation totally unacceptable. It is very hard to explain why a RMS would leak on a car with vacuum in the crankcase when the TT likely has positive pressure and has no reported issues of leakage.

Want to see a picture of it?

i believe there are design flaws.. schatz thought he fixed it first time and he is no slouch. i am really upset, this is a serious problem, there's at least 4 of us now.

just to have something reliable to drive, i bought a strad yesterday. at least then i'll know i won't be driving porsche's loaner

Pics would be good. Black "powder" is normal and not a leak (other than the internal leaks that come out through the cats ... )

Not a drop here. Did you buy the black one with stripe on ebay?

I have noticed a slight leak. I still haven't brought it to my dealer's attention. Personally, I don't think it is a serious issue but then again, if I can get a LWFW out of the deal (the labor), then I would take the car to the dealer.

Yes it is. My turbo with positive crankcase pressure has no leaks at 5k miles. As a matter or fact, there are no reported leaks in any 997TT's. Does that make your brain hurt?

No leaks here.

Though I do get an occasional puff of blue smoke at startup, which is a common issue with these motors.

Strangely, despite the occasional smoke at startup, I have had very little oil consumption through the breakin procedure. The oil went down one bar, and has now stayed there. Even after some hard track time.
