And if you pay that, you have to come on Rennlist and confess your sins.

"WE WILL HAVE PICTURES SOON"

Translation: If and when we get the car we'll take pics. In the meantime we don't even own it

Interesting that they also have two regular GT3s with no significant miles at over MSRP...are they working with a local authorized dealer as an outlet to sell cars over MSRP?

Good luck for the thief / seller. Someone would have to be crazy to spend that much over MSRP for a used car that will continue to drop in value over time. No matter how great this car is my guess is the car will be MSRP or less in one year.

there's always some "gotta have it" guy around the corner who will pay any price.....tell ya what; find me some schmuck to buy mine, pre-build, at 200K with the option to still change everything and they can have mine..... ....then I will buy it back at MSRP or less a year or two later

This is exactly what these sorts of shops did (and still do) with the 993. They predate the market, buy every example, hold them at wildly inflated prices.

And it's comforting to see Porsche is asleep on the matter.

I'm pleased to see Porsche's got a product that's getting people excited and I don't think the money-no-object buyers are a limited population. For every GT3 or RS that does reach a "status" buyer, there's a Bentley or Ferrari or a Lamborghini to make up for it.

The real issue here is the way Porsche runs the show and allows itself to be the stooge. Why can't they wise up? They should either make enough to satisfy demand or control ownership of limited production vehicles to stabilize the secondary market value over the long term.

I wonder if there's anyone watching this at Porsche (in the USA or Germany.)

This annoys the potatoes out of me because, if they'd just control their own product, it would be a viable proposition to buy something like an RS or a GT2 or even a Carrera GT.

Ray Joseph (RPM) has the market on 993TT's and widebodied 993's. His cars are showroom condition or better. Most of his buyers are very affluent collectors, and repeat customers. He has one customer that buys a dozen or more cars a year from him.

It's the act of people repeating this unsubstantiated nonsense that serves to perpetuate the marketing BS of these parasites.

Wow...

I was just over at RPM... WOW. I would imagine it's very rare to see three GT3's (two RS's..) together at one dealer.

Couldn't decide which was the better combo - silver/orange is nice, orange/back is good and white with red wheels is special too. Someone is going to be very happy.

Expensive - yes. But there are people out there that $$'s are just numbers. I suspect there are going to be a few yahoo execs looking for toys like this...

Isn't MSRP just a number? If you are lucky/interested enough to want to spec out your car, then that is the price, but after that it is just "market". To me it all hinges on availability and the RS is just not available. The difference with Ferrari is that they literally can't make any more until they build a new production line. With Porsche it is just marketing because they can build as many as they want within reason.

I want one! It's market price does not seem that off to me (maybe 10%) given the performance/looks/availibility relative to other high end sports cars.

All new cars depreciate. Unless you are lucky enough to be on the "list" with an F dealer, you pay mkt and sell at list at best.
