I will come clean. I have never driven a modern Porsche. My signature basically says it all. I have quit a bit of track instruction time so I am not very concerned about being able to handle the car, I just want a little more insight.

Ah! That sense of the front end being light is much less pronounce on 997s
Enjoy! Even the wait can be fun!

The reason to buy this car was one the classic (993) lines, but mostly the horse power. For all the good things about the 993 it still is 10 years old. i am sorry to see it go but at least it is going to a fellow Rennlister.

I wonder how cars completed so close together do not make the same boat. Mine was completed Mar.2 and as far as I know it is still not on the boat. Can the dealer request a later delivery for some strange reason or does Porsche decide "This dealer can wait until later" in orde to satisfy some high volume dealers? This is BS about 4 weeks after "COMPLETED" not having any delivery date. From what I understand, even OBGYN's can even get closer delivery dates for the most part.

Boat is to Houston. Used Google earth to find the storage facility after seeing the cars stored there years ago when we had a shop there. Right near where 610 crosses the river. I understand P-cars are shipped in containers instead of RORO ships so I may be mistaken. The last new car I ordered was the M3 and we didn't have the technology (or maybe I didn't know better) and when I finally got it from the dealer it had 44 miles on it and A NEW RIGHT FRONT FENDER! Still has the DOT tag so when I go to sell it I will have a hell of a time explaining the fender. Sorry for the hijack
