Is there a known RS sale that was more than $30K over MSRP?

How come you would not give him the original sticker if he now had the car?

I have no doubt that in the hands of a pro driver the RS is a better and faster car than the GT3. Everyone understands that. What is at issue is whether the RS in the hands of John Doe is a substantially better car than the GT3 or 997TT. My view, as it is of most commentators, is that it is not especially for the extra $17000-20,000 or now with the premium of $30-50,000.

From the beginning this has been my point. Again, the RS is a terrific track car but only for those that are very skilled in driving. For most, the GT3 is the far better choice.

Mainly for 4 reasons: 1) For sentimental reasons of owning that GT2 I loved very much 2) For proof of ownership for any 'Duke of Doubters' 3) I would like to frame all the window stickers of the 'Exotic Cars' I have owned over the last 3 years and last but not least 4) Because I paid $205,000 for that sticker and the GT2!!!

I even have the window sticker and huge promotional manual from the 1991(?) Dodge Viper I bought brand new. They only made 200 that first year and I was lucky enough to own one of them! Magwheel

You must be running out of wall space for those framed stickers by now.

you pmailed and never got a response?
i can't say i've understood it from the start.
it's not like you need to post to find an RS buyer.
and once you post it at a specific price how do you decide who get's the car?
first reply?
the first reply posted was from thomas997tt and it was his first rennlist post.
maybe he got it!?
i just posted interest but i didnt get a response either richk.
i guess posted interest to purchase isnt as genuine as posted interest to sell?
even if you have expressed interest in the past for a previous RS he listed for a friend.
his friend wanted 25k over though!

I did PM....I did make an offer.....I even went back and forth with the seller...I don't want to give the exact numbers but I offered more than he was asking for.

Well, that hasn't proven out at the Ring. The best I can see is some times the regular GT3 is faster around the Ring and some times it's the RS version. Depends on day, driver, etc. The writers pretty much say that maybe the RS is a second or two quicker around the Ring and it's just because if the very slight weight advantage. And that's with a RoW RS, where here in the US we get the RS America.

My feeling has always been to get a regular GT3 and make some slight modifications and then it will surely be quicker than a RS America and much less expensive. And, you won't be upset with you get some stone chips in your car at the track - that is what the GT3 is made for, isn't it?

Polar got back to me right away. There were 6 others in line before me about a week ago when he was getting full price (including taxes) offers. I know he was away on business. It is more than likely sold already.

Here's some pics of my GT3RS being delivered on March 15th. I posted them in the Carrera GT section of RENNLIST because I had an extensive post going on there and didn't want to break it up. If you're interested, please look in the Carrera GT section on RENNLIST under the topic of Pics of my cars in a line-up! The truck that delivered the RS was unbelievable! Magwheel

A guy on Rennteam.com was offered a used orange RS with 500 miles on it for 198k. It had an MSRP of 149k. Sounds pretty close to this car. I give Peter credit for offering his car here for what he had into it.
