I have one too... It's a necessity for some Regions' DEs.

Location does not interfere either.

I had one too (car sold to make room for RS). Generally it does not interfere, but with dress pants on, getting out of the car can result in interference as they entangle over the latch.

this option is a puzzle for me. if one needs it one must be concious and lucid unlike a unit that is plumbed and primed to actually extinguish a fire.

if i'm awake enough to use the extinguisher, i'm awake enough to get the heck out of the car!!!! let it burn as long as i'm OK

what do others think?

A lot of pca de's require a FE, nice as a factory installed option for only 140. Hell, you couldn't buy an aftermarket one with a bk mount for that amount.

Check the racer forum, it's a topic that's been burned to a cinder.

In short, given even the best fire suits are rated in terms of seconds of exposure and there's the possibility that you could be 100% but pinned in the car as it catches on fire, the extinguisher could buy you precious seconds while safety workers arrive and suppress the fire.
