Default 997 GT3 Motor / Transmission Mounts Upgrade

Over the past few days, I have been researching an upgrade for the motor and transmission mounts for the GT3. I have received conflicting information and raised more questions then answers thus far. I hope the expertise of the group can assist me in this...

1. I had initially wanted to go with solid Cup Car mounts, but was told this would be too aggressive. Instead, I should go with hard rubber mounts from the 993RS. What does everyone think? I am NOT looking for comfort in the car, this is merely a fun car mainly for the track, but, I do drive to and from the track.
2. Does anyone know the part number for the hard rubber 993RS mounts?
3. What about the transmission mount, do I need to change that as well? If so, what is the part number? Is it: 964-375-055-80?
Thanks!

hmmm. good question. I would think the GT3/GT3 RS would be equiped with 993RS type of motor and trans mounts - hard rubber. the regular 993 mounts are of liquid filled type. very soft and does not transmit much of engine vibration, however, it made shifting feeling vague and the engine would "shift" under heavy accel and cornering.

the part # for 993 RS motor mounts is 964.375.043.80 need two.

Which has been superseded by #964.375.043.81. Anyone have these or the standard mounts available for a check on dimensions such as diameter, bolt spacing/offset, and such?

You guys are the best! Thank you! Would you happen to have a part number for the correct transmission mount as well? I am assuming the transmission mount is hard rubber too, correrct?

The part of the street transmission mount with the rubber in it is replaced with a solid frame on the Cup.

You need to replace the mounting pan under the gearbox and add the frame which replaces the rubber mounts, there are 5 part numbers involved.

Do you have any of the 5 part numbers? Thanks...

I have the part numbers, but don't have time at the moment to post (have to pick up the wife at the airport). Most are Motorsports parts so most dealers will not get them for you. You have to be a Motorsports distributor.

It is hard to tell, but looking at the parts diagrams, it appears that perhaps the end of the gearbox is modified so that four 8mm bolts hold the gearbox to the mounting frame in the Cup installation instead of two 12 mm bolts as in the street installation.

I would want to look at a Cup mounting setup to see if it will work with the street gearbox configuration before I ordered any parts....

Interesting. So there is no easy way to replace this mounting without converting to the cup car setup like there is for the engine mounts?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the advice and input on this!

It may be easy if the casting at the end of the gearbox does not have to be changed. You will have to look under a real Cup and check how it was done.

I can't tell just looking at parts diagrams.

Have fun.
