Hi
First Post. My new 997 GT3 is slated for build in July, and is the only one coming to my dealership in Charleston, WV. It will be my 4th 911 (2002 C2, 2003 C4S, and currently, 2004 Turbo Cab). I can't wait! I have learned a great deal from this site over the past few months and thank you all for the insights. I note a great deal more sophistication about driving skills and understanding of driving dyanamics than I have been able to acquire in my 15 DE events. I envy all of you who live closer to tracks than I do (about 4 hours) and would solicit anyone who would like to build a sports car course in my neck of the woods!!
The car I ordered will be, therefore, primarily street use as I only get to the track 2 - 5 times a year. Options are as follows:
Carrera White
Guards Red Dials (saw the posts about being hard to read but have seen at the dealer and did not look like a problem to me)
Leather steering wheel (concerned about alcantara wear)
PCM (like direct trac access)
Sound package plus (like the music when it is cold, engine when it is not)
Heated seats (it is cold in WV)
Carbon fiber gear shift and handbrake, door sils (flight of fancy)
Xenons (once you have them, you can't live without them)
Sport Chrono package (wanted the extra torque over the midrange)
Self dimming mirrors (can't live without)
To all those with their new GT3s in the garage, congratulations and safe speed!

All GT3's have the "sport button" which takes care of this.
Your gonna love the car

MJones: I thought I had read that on this column, but it appears you are right. My bubble has been burst before, but I'll live.
normank: I drive at night some and I am just used to that feature. Don't like to fiddle with the manual toggle switch. It even works in the day with the sun behind you.
Pictures will be forthcoming.
