30k over is rediculous. It will depreciate 30k as soon as you drive off the lot and you'll never recoup that 30k bonus you gave the dealer, that's a 60k loss before you hit the first traffic light.
Just get a GT3, the RS here is not the real RoW RS anyway, more like a watered/dumbed down US version.

Thanks folks for the inputs, and thanks to those who tried to connect me with RS allocations.

I agree that the market is kind of crazy at this moment, so I would pass on the RS at this time. I would wait and see how the market price goes when the cars arrive to the dealer later this year.

With best regards,

Are you nuts? You ought to grab the alleged $180K and RUN!!!!!!! Even w/every conceivable option you're at max $150 msrp.......which dealer are you getting from? Do you, yourself have to buy/lease it first from your dealer before reselling as "used" or would it be purchase as new from the dealer?

My wife thinks I'm nuts as well. I can sell it prior to delivery. I have a 50% non refundable deposit on her. $140K cost to me.

...you must be Jim's brother....

bleep off bleep head, I am sure I am sick and tired of you and your coments. You not I are the one who keeps this bull up. My car, to the one with out eyes or a way to read this post, is not for sale. So you and the other negative people on this site who do not have a spot can take this time to think about the behavior shown on this site by them. What makes you people right anyway. You are only a small, however educated, group of people who buy. If you are going to talk about the car and wonder so can others and myself. The problem with you and others is that you have and have had that silver spoon so far up your bleep for so long that you do not know what you say or how other hear you. So in closing take this type of stab and keep it.

UH OH....here we go again....Jim FWIW; don't take the hook; you're too easy to flame on and your ignited state will just get you more heat....let it go...there are understandibley bound to be guys who are still sensitized to your initial comments on the over MSRP $$ you raved about and you should not blame them or be so reactive.

Having been on the early bandwagon when the 996 GT3s first got here, I was fortunate to get one for $5K below MSRP when the hysteria was causing people to buy for $5-10K above MSRP. I spent $12K in track upgrades (2 sets of wheels, powdercoated roll bar, seats) and after 2 years of DEs was able to sell it (before the bubble burst) and the remaining parts for $95K.

The price of GT3s has dropped precipitously, and most do not seem to get a lot more than a well optioned out 996. Even though they are great cars, bringing more GT3s in the 997 variety will only over saturate a limited market, and cause all of the prices to become depressed (along with their owners). If you plan to buy any of the 997 GT3 cars even at MSRP with the thought that you can get your money back, think again.

Larry I wouldnt say prices have dropped that much. I paid 90 for mine (3 months old and loaded-04)
and I have had two recent unsolicited offers to buy it in the 80K range. It has the only full manthey 410 kit I know of in the US- as well as GT3 seats rollbar RS FLW and clutch and breather-that might make it a bit more desirable but I have seen others selling for 75-85k
which is alot more than any 996 I have seen- even TT's. I think they have actually stablized abit. I have NO knowledge of the 997 GT3 market other than I cant get one. maybe thats why people are looking for 996 GT3 now.

I was like 122+ then the owner added some carbon bits and the Manthey ($12k-for ecu headers 100 cell cats mufflers and tips.I have the stock Ecu/header cats and muffler the original owner bought a spare GT3 ECU). I added the seats techquipmet rollbar RS flywheel/clutch and breather. and thats where it is now. probably $140K (95 from me) invested. though this one is a bit different the prices are still in the 75-85K range.

For those who think they are going to mint money flipping a RS:

What was the last new Porsche to appreciate in value?

What was the last Porsche that you couldn't purchase by the dozen at MSRP or less in year 2?
